Trauma
We all experience traumas throughout our life. Most of the time we cope just fine but sometimes things are bad enough that they overwhelm our system. It leaves us feeling scared, hurt, and powerless. When this happens, we can feel stuck and uncertain and unable to move forward. Trauma is the event and the experience. It’s different for each person. Sometimes we cry, sometimes we yell, sometimes we run, sometimes we shut down.
Trauma is unique to the individual so healing must also be unique and tailored to the person as well. We use a combination of talk and tools to help address traumas. Throughout the process we will spend time exploring how your brain and body react to trauma. We will work towards not only understanding but also regaining control and responding differently so you can live and enjoy a whole life.
